A handsome antique 19th century pine linen press cupboard, presented in a lovely light stripped pine finish. The upper section features a pair of panelled cupboard doors opening to a spacious interior with new hanging rail and a later painted finish, while below are two generously sized drawers providing useful additional storage. Raised on bun feet and retaining a simple cornice, this is a practical and versatile piece, well suited to a bedroom, hallway or living space. The cupboard splits into three parts (cornice, cupboard and drawers) for ease of transport. A charming and useful piece of country furniture with plenty of storage and a pleasing light colour throughout.

In good antique condition throughout with signs of age and use. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches, knocks and minor imperfections consistent with its age. There are some areas of loss, including to sections of the cornice and the beaded moulding between the upper and lower sections (pictured). Evidence of historic woodworm is present in places, though this is long inactive and the piece has been treated as a precaution.

There is a historic repair to the backboards, and the cupboard and drawers are fitted with later wooden knobs that are in keeping with the character of the piece. The drawers run well, and the cupboard remains structurally solid and sound with a pleasing overall appearance. Our carpenter inspects, repairs, and restores our items, so you can have full confidence that what you buy from us is ready for your home!
