A very attractive vintage French coffee table of unusual elongated oval form. The table has a broad oval top with a raised moulded gallery edge, sitting above a deep shaped and moulded frieze. Raised on four turned supports united by decorative turned stretchers, giving the piece a distinctly French character. The timber has a lovely rich, dark colour with plenty of variation and patina throughout. Particularly nice proportions and an interesting alternative to the more usual rectangular coffee table.

In good vintage condition with wear commensurate with age and use. Various surface marks, scratches, knocks and areas of wear to the finish throughout, adding to its aged character. Some movement/separation and old repairs are visible around sections of the moulded gallery and frieze. Some evidence of historic woodworm, but this is long gone and has been treated as a precaution. Structurally solid and sound overall.
