A good quality Victorian mahogany pedestal desk with an inset red leather writing surface, decorated with gilt tooling. The desk has nine drawers arranged around a central kneehole, fitted with decorative brass handles. Above the writing surface is a fitted raised back with two compartments, each having a small drawer and open pigeonhole, joined by a shaped shelf with turned spindle gallery. The desks splits into three pieces for transport. A substantial and well-made desk with a rich mahogany colour and attractive patina.

In good antique condition with age-related marks, scratches and knocks throughout. Wear and scuffing to the red leather writing surface and gilt tooling as pictured. Some wear and variation to the polished finish, particularly to the front of the writing surface. Drawers run well. Brass fittings with age-related wear and tarnishing. Structurally solid and sound.
