An attractive antique harlequin set of four Welsh oak chairs of pleasing colour and honest country character. Each chair features a traditional ladder-back design with two shaped horizontal rails above a solid oak plank seat. Raised on square legs united by stretcher supports, the chairs display the simple, robust construction associated with Welsh vernacular furniture. The subtle variations between the chairs add to their charm and authenticity, creating a characterful set well suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

In good antique condition throughout with signs of age and use commensurate with their period. Surface wear, marks and minor knocks are present throughout, together with some historic shrinkage and movement to the oak. There are old repairs and restorations in places, along with evidence of historic treated woodworm. Minor losses and wear to some feet and edges. The chairs remain solid, sturdy and ready for use, with a warm, well-aged patina throughout.
