A substantial 18th century oak gateleg dining table of generous proportions, raised on eight turned legs united by stretchers and terminating in traditional bun feet. The oval top is formed from wide solid oak planks with two drop leaves, supported by a pair of swinging gatelegs which extend smoothly to provide a large dining surface. The table displays an excellent colour and rich patina, with particularly attractive figuring throughout the plank top. Honest wear, small historic marks and age-related character add to its authenticity and appeal.

Structurally solid and sturdy. The gateleg action operates smoothly and the leaves are well supported when extended. General surface wear, historic knocks, scratches and minor shrinkage consistent with age and use. A well-preserved example with a pleasing untouched appearance.
