A handsome Georgian walnut bureau with a well-fitted interior and excellent colour throughout. The fall-front has a working lock and key, which opens to reveal a traditional arrangement of small drawers, pigeonholes, and a central cupboard. Below are two short over three long graduated drawers fitted with brass swan-neck handles. The bureau stands on shaped bracket feet and displays attractive walnut figuring across the drawer fronts.

Good antique condition overall with age-related wear. There is some loss to the veneer along the lower edges and loss to the cockbeaded edging on the drawers. There is also a small area of loss to the back left edge of the top. The drawers run smoothly and the bureau is structurally solid and sound. Overall, the wear is consistent with age and does not detract from the piece’s overall appeal.

Our carpenter inspects, repairs, and restores our items, so you can have full confidence that what you buy from us is ready for your home! We ask that you take the time to look at all the photos as they form part of the description and condition report of the item.
