Pair of Antique Captain’s Armchairs

A fantastic pair of circa 1900 antique beech and elm captains armchairs or smokers bow armchairs. The antique captain’s armchairs have a curved spindle back with shaped open arms and a solid elm seat. The antique armchairs are raised on thick turned legs, with double ‘H’ stretcher supports. In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and fading to the seat and armrests (pictured). There is also shrinkage to the backrest (pictured), and further marks and wear to the legs (pictured). The antique captain’s armchairs remain structurally solid and sound, with good tight joints. Overall, a great pair of antique armchairs.
