A particularly charming large, antique George III oak bureau. This large antique oak bureau has a fall front that reveals an impressive, fitted interior. There are numerous drawers and pigeonholes around a small central cupboard. There are also some ‘secret’ drawers and a well. The fall front is supported by two pull our or draw leaf arms that each have a small brass knob. The base consists of three small fitted dummy drawers (to accommodate the well) and an arrangement of three short drawers over two longer drawers and a single long drawer to the base. The antique oak bureau is raised on decorative bracket feet with later added castors. A wonderful example of a large George III antique oak bureau.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including some age-related marks and ink staining to the top, to the fall front and drawers, and also to the writing surface inside. The antique oak bureau remains structurally solid and sound with the drawers running well. There has been a good, honest repair to the top where the lock plate sits (pictured). No keys present. Some replacement boards to the back. Overall, a wonderful example of a large antique oak bureau.
