Large Antique 19th Century Country House Oak Chest

An impressive and large antique 19th century country house oak chest. The oak chest has a hinged lid which opens to reveal storage compartments for silverware. The oak chest has exposed dovetail joins to the corners as well as original iron work to the corners and handles to each side. The oak chest is raised on a  plinth base with block feet.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks to the top, sides and front of the oak chest. To the inside, the green baize has come away from the sides in places (pictured), however, this does not affect the overall integrity of the piece. There is also some loss to the top (pictured) as well as some splitting (pictured), the oak chest remains structurally solid and sound. A lovely example of a large antique 19th century country house oak chest.
