In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and splits to the top (pictured), also marks and scratches to the sides and front. There is evidence of historic woodworm, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution, but has created losses to the wood (pictured). The antique oak chest remains structurally solid and sound, complete with a working lock and key. Overall, a fabulous example of an 18th century Italian cassone.
