Edwardian Antique Mahogany Commode Armchair

A well crafted Edwardian antique mahogany commode armchair. The antique commode armchair has a bar backrest with open arms with a square shaped seat. The seat has a hinged red patterned upholstered seat, which lifts up to reveal the commode. The aprons of the chair are low and shaped to disguise the bowl on the inside. A particularly pleasing example of an antique commode.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and scratches to the armrests and backrest (pictured), also a minor split to the back (pictured). The upholstered seat also has age-related marks (pictured), however remains intact. There is evidence of historic woodworm to the front (pictured), however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The antique mahogany commode armchair remains structurally solid and sound. Overall, a good example of an antique commode.
