A pair of early 20th century walnut framed Shaker style chairs, comprising a rocking chair and a matching armchair. Both feature a three-rail back and shaped open arms supported on turned uprights. The armchair is raised on square tapering legs with supporting stretchers, while the rocking chair has shaped rocker runners. In good antique condition throughout, showing authentic signs of age and use. The surface displays marks and scratches consistent with its period character. There is some loss to the knots, fading and marks to the arms, and minor splitting. Both rattan seats show some loss. Despite these signs of wear, the chairs remain solid and functional.
