Early 20th Century Antique Oak Monks Bench

An attractive and well crafted early 20th century antique oak monk’s bench. The antique oak monk’s bench has a flip over backrest that forms a useful table top, with open arms supported by impressive barley twist supports. The seat is hinged and opens to reveal a spacious storage space below. The antique oak monk’s bench has decorative detail to the front panel. A rather lovely example of good proportions.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related scratches and marks to the seat (pictured), and stains to the table top (pictured). There is a good, old historic repair to the front left barley twist support (pictured), however the antique oak monk’s bench remains structurally solid and sound. Overall, a good example of its kind.
