Beech and Elm Captains Armchair

A Victorian antique beech and elm captains armchair or smokers bow chair. The antique captain’s armchair has shaped arms with turned spindle supports. The solid elm seat has a good grain pattern and is raised on four turned legs with H stretcher supports. Finished with a fresh coat of natural wax. Good colour and patina throughout.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks to the arms and back (pictured) there is also further wear, including age-related splits to the seat (pictured). The antique captains armchair remains structurally solid and sound, with good tight joints. Overall, a good example of a antique captain’s armchairs.
