Antique Walnut Lowboy

An attractive walnut Georgian style lowboy dating to the early 20th century, constructed in figured walnut veneers and of classic 18th century design. The configuration consists of three drawers to the frieze, all fitted with brass drop handles. The top is veneered in well figured walnut with crossbanded borders, showing pleasing grain throughout. Raised on four cabriole legs terminating in pad feet, the piece has good proportions and displays strong decorative appeal. A well made example of Georgian revival furniture with good colour and decorative presence.

In good condition consistent with age and use. There is some rippling and minor lifting to the walnut veneer on the top as shown, along with general surface marks and wear. There is a historic repair to the back edge of the top and a small loss to the right drawer front. Evidence of historic woodworm present, long inactive and precautionarily treated. Structurally sound with drawers running as expected. Overall a presentable and decorative piece showing honest age related wear.
