A magnificent Victorian antique ‘Bonheur De Jour’ ladies writing desk crafted from walnut. It features a moulded top with inlay and an inset leather writing surface. The top section includes a central storage compartment that lifts to reveal dividers, flanked by two cupboards, each with dividers and a small drawer inside. Below this is a single full-width drawer with neat dividers, and beneath that a pull-out ‘under wool’ compartment. The desk stands on four turned legs with castors and X stretchers, showcasing beautiful walnut grain throughout. Complete with working locks and keys, this is a stunning and functional example of Victorian craftsmanship.
