Antique Victorian Pine Trunk

A neatly proportioned antique Victorian pine trunk or chest. The pine trunk has a hinged lid that opens to reveal a spacious interior. There are exposed dovetail joints to the corners, and metal carry handles to either side for easy lifting and transport.“Victoria” used to own the trunk, we know this as the mischievous owner inscribed her name on the front! The antique trunk has a plinth base and is raised on block feet. Finished with a fresh coat of natural wax. A rather good example, full of rustic charm.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and stains to the top and sides. There is evidence of historic woodworm to the top and sides, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The pine trunk is structurally solid and sound. Overall, a wonderful example of its kind.
