Antique Pine Trunk or Blanket Box

A well proportioned 19th century antique pine trunk or blanket box. The antique trunk has a hinged lid (retaining its original ironmongery) that opens to reveal a spacious interior, with a candle box to the left hand side. The pine trunk is of rectangular form with exposed dovetail joints to the corners, and iron carry handles to both sides. Raised on a plinth base with block feet. Finished with a fresh coat of natural wax. A rather pleasing example, with plenty of storage space.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related scratches and shrinkage splits to the top (pictured), further scratches and marks to the front, sides and back (pictured). The antique pine trunk remains structurally solid and sound. Finished with a fresh coat of natural wax. Overall, a great example of its kind.
