Antique Edwardian Mahogany Compactum Wardrobe

A particularly impressive and large antique Edwardian mahogany compactum wardrobe, showcasing fine craftsmanship and elegant design. The wardrobe features a moulded cornice top, lending a stately presence. Below the cornice is a half-height cupboard with a neatly inlaid door, adding a refined decorative touch.  

Flanking the central cupboard are two mirrored cupboards, which open to reveal spacious interiors complete with hanging rails and hooks, providing ample storage for clothing. The base includes a chest of four long, graduating drawers, offering additional practical storage space. The wardrobe is raised on a plinth base for stability and visual balance. Thoughtfully designed for convenience, it separates into five parts, ensuring ease of transport and placement.

In good antique condition throughout, with signs of age and use consistent with its history. Surface wear is visible in places, including age-related marks and scratches throughout the piece. There are some minor marks to the top and plinth, but these do not affect the integrity of the wardrobe. The drawers and latches run smoothly, adding to its functionality. A great example of a compactum wardrobe, full of character and timeless appeal.
