Antique Large Oak Refectory Dining Table

An antique large solid oak refectory dining table raised on three carved baluster supports united by stretchers. The base features carved stylised strapwork decoration in the Jacobean/Celtic revival taste, giving the piece good character and presence. Constructed with traditional pegged joinery and a solid oak plank top. A well proportioned table with good knee clearance, comfortably seating 8–10 people, making it ideal for dining or as a large kitchen table.

Large solid oak refectory table in good antique condition. General age-related marks, scratches and surface wear throughout consistent with age and use. There is fading to the feet and lower edges of the base, along with surface marks as expected with a solid oak table of this type. There is a historic split to one of the carved baluster supports which is stable (pictured). Evidence of some historic woodworm, although this is very minor, long gone and treated as a precaution. Overall the table is solid, sturdy and ready for use.
