Both chairs are well proportioned with classic hooped backs, turned legs and solid plank seats, showing excellent craftsmanship throughout. The chairs display attractive grain and a deep colour. These are quality examples made by a skilled craftsman, and have a strong honest country character. A handsome and practical pair.

In good condition overall. There is some bowing to the wood on one of the top rails (pictured), consistent with the natural movement of solid timber over time. This does not affect the overall structure, and both chairs remain solid, sound, and stable. There are marks, surface wear, and small knocks consistent with age and use, none of which detract from their overall appeal.
