A large traditional style wooden rocking horse, finely carved and realistically modelled, set on a substantial trestle base with bow rockers. The horse is finished in a warm stained and painted finish, fitted with a leather saddle and tack, metal stirrups, and glass eyes, with a naturalistic mane and tail. Raised on a solid wooden frame, the piece is well-proportioned and decorative, suitable for both display and use.

Overall good condition consistent with age and use. The surface shows general wear throughout, including scuffs, scratches, and areas of rubbing to the painted and stained finish. The leather saddle and tack display age-related wear, surface marks, and patination, with some stiffness to straps. The mane and tail show light thinning and fraying. Minor chips, abrasions, and wear to the wooden base and rockers, particularly at edges and contact points. Structurally solid and sound, a lovely example.
