An amazingly detailed and attractive 19th century antique carved oak coffer. This beautiful antique oak coffer has a well crafted front featuring patterns, scrolls, flowers and acorn carvings, also a central plaque dated ‘Diamond Jubilee 1897 Victoria’. The antique oak coffer has a panelled hinged lid that opens to reveal a large interior. Raised on decorative stile feet. A particularly pleasing example, with beautiful colour and grain throughout.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches, stains and minor patch repairs to the lid surface (pictured), also minor dents to the front of the coffer (pictured). There is evidence of historical woodworm, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. There are also a few honest repairs to the feet (pictured), also a split to the right hand side (pictured). The antique oak coffer remains structurally solid and sound. Overall, a great example of its kind.
