18th Century Oak Clerks Desk

An attractive 18th century oak clerks desk. The top is sloped, and lifts to reveal a neat storage space. This sits above an arrangement of two short over a single long drawer. Each adorned with brass swan neck handles on Georgian style back plates.  Also, to the front is a shaped apron. Raised on square tapered legs.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including some staining to the storage compartment (pictured). This is not complete with a working lock and key and as the lock is engaged, the slightly warped sloped lid will not close fully (pictured). The sloped section separates from the main body for ease of transport. The brass handles appear to be replacements, though all drawers run well. Structurally solid and sound.
