18th Century Antique Oak Chest of Drawers

An attractive 18th century antique oak chest of drawers. The antique chest of drawers has a rectangular moulded top above a decorative dentil frieze. The 18th century chest of drawers has an arrangement of two short over three long drawers, each with brass drop handles and oak crossbanded borders. The oak chest of drawers has a cupid’s bow shaped apron and is raised on shaped feet. A wonderful example of this kind.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches, stains and shrinkage to the top and sides (pictured). The drawer fronts also have surface wear, including age-related marks, scratches and fading (pictured). There are minor losses and repairs to the drawers corners (pictured), however this doesn’t affect the overall integrity of the product. The antique oak chest of drawers remains structurally solid and sound, with the drawers running well. There is minor evidence of historic woodworm, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. The top two drawers are locked, to open them you need to open the drawer below and push up on a slat of wood at the bottom of the drawer to unlock (pictured). Overall, a great example of an 18th century chest of drawers.
