18th Century Antique Oak Chest of Drawers

An 18th century antique oak chest of drawers. The oak chest has a moulded cornice to the top with a concealed drawer below. There is an arrangement of two short drawers over three long graduating drawers, each with polished brass handles and escutcheons. The chest is raised on bracket feet.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, scratches and staining to the front and sides (pictured). The chest has had a new top at some point. The chest remains structurally solid and sound with the drawers running well. There have been some repairs to the bracket feet and the panels to the side have dropped slightly causing a visible gap. Losses to the cockbeading around the drawers. Evidence of old historic woodworm, this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. Overall, the chest remains a good functional piece of furniture with excellent colour throughout.
