An attractive, well-proportioned antique 18th century joined oak coffer or blanket box with hinged two plank oak lid revealing generous internal storage, two panel front with decorative carved detail above, raised on stile feet. Chip carved detail to the lid and subtly scratch carved detail around the edge of the lid. A good example of an 18th century carved oak coffer.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. General surface wear in places but overall, rather good. Structurally solid and sound and retaining its original hinges. The internal candle box has been removed at some point in time. Evidence of old historic wood worm – this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution.
