An attractive 19th century antique smoker’s bow chair or captain’s chair principally in elm. The smoker’s bow chair has a shaped back with arms raised on turned spindle upright supports. The solid elm seat has a good grain and is raised on four turned legs with a double H stretcher support.

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks to the seat and arms (pictured). There are some splits and losses to the seat also (pictured). The smoker’s bow chair remains structurally solid and sound with good tight joints. Evidence of old historic wood worm in places – this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution.
Our carpenter inspects, repairs, and restores our items, so you can have full confidence that what you buy from us is ready for your home!
