A fine 19th-century Welsh oak dresser of generous proportions. The base comprises three drawers above three lower central drawers — the two bottom drawers being dummy fronts — all fitted with wooden knobs and decorative escutcheons. The drawers to either side are latched and accessed through the cupboard doors, which open to reveal a single fitted shelf in each. Standing on shaped corner bracket feet, the dresser separates into two sections for ease of transport. The upper section features an attractive shaped rack of three fixed shelves, with the addition of a later hardwood backboard. A beautifully crafted and practical piece showcasing the charm and character of traditional Welsh design.

In good antique condition throughout, showing some signs of age. There is surface wear, including age-related marks and scratches, along with some loss to the side and staining to the shelves, surface top, and back. There is loss to the back of the rack on the left side (photographed). Despite this, the dresser remains solid and structurally sound, with a rich patina that reflects its age and history.

Our experienced carpenter thoroughly inspects, repairs, and restores each item in our collection to ensure it is fully prepared for use in your home.
