In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age and wear. There is surface wear in places including some marks, staining and scratches to the top, fall front and drawer fronts (pictured). There are further age-related wear and scratches to the interior of the bureau, and losses to the knobs of two of the small drawers inside of the bureau. The brass escutcheon to the fall front is a later replacement and the handles have been changed at some point, there is also no key present. There is evidence of historic woodworm, however this is now long gone and has been fully treated as precaution. The 19th century mahogany bureau remains structurally solid and sound and is a good example of neat proportions.
